はつほ【初穂】

1 〔稲の〕 the first ears of rice; 〔作物の〕 the first harvest of the season.

2 〔神仏に供える〕 the first fruits offered to Heaven [the gods]; the first crop offering.

初穂料 a cash offering made on the occasion of one's visit to a shrine.
